Call for entries, the 9th Mindanao Film Festival

This year’s Mindanao Film Festival we will be embracing the theme “Istayl nato.” (Our Style) this festival will celebrate the diverse styles of our regional filmmakers. We aim to recognize the local guerrilla filmmaker with his/her unique style of telling his/her story. 

The early years of the Guerilla Film Festival and the Mindanao Film Festival were made to encourage to tell their stories in the medium of digital film now we will be celebrating their styles, their methods, aesthetics, principles etc. We will be adding an animation category for those who want to tell their stories thru animation. 

And expanding our previous theme of “Your film, Your festival” we encourage filmmakers who will be joining the festival to drumbeat or make noise about the film that you would be making. The social media is an expanding world and we hope the local filmmakers thru the internet can reach out to a wider audience. By promoting your story this will raise awareness and excitement about the film which will be shown on the festival.
